LG Optimus L9 P769 Display Screen Replacement

To replace the screen on your LG Optimus L9, ensure you're working in a static-free environment to prevent component damage.

  • Understand the process of removing the motherboard for this repair.
  • Be extremely cautious when disconnecting components, as permanent damage is possible if not done correctly.

Step 1 | Motherboard

Place the device face down on a flat surface.

Remove the back cove carefully to avoid damage.

  • Lift out the battery using your finger or a prying tool.

Careful not to damage the frame with excessive force.

  • Remove the 10 x 4.5mm Phillips screws holding the back frame to the case.
  • Pry off the back frame using a small plastic prying tool on the sides of the device.

Pinch the antenna node sides with tweezers and pull straight up.

  • Use a small prying tool to carefully remove the ribbon cables attached to the motherboard.

Use a spudger or small prying tool to gently lift the motherboard away from the chassis.

Careful handling is required when removing the latches.

  • Use a spudger or small prying tool to gently pry off the latches.
  • Avoid forcing open as these latches are easily damaged.

Turn the phone face down after removing the digitizer.

  • Remove the plastic housing for the front speaker.

The plastic housing should come off easily.

Disconnect the connector from its socket by sliding it out through the chassis hole, taking care not to damage it.

Use a small opening tool and gently pry away the adhesive holding the primary or rear camera in place.

  • Lift out the camera using a pair of tweezers.
  • With the same small opening tool, carefully release the taped connector from the phone's chassis.
  • Making sure all connection remnants are removed, verify that the connector can freely pass through its corresponding hole in the chassis.
