LG Optimus G Pro Speaker Replacement

Ensure prerequisites for inner cover removal are complete before proceeding, as access to the speaker is required.

  • This guide assumes completion of inner cover removal prerequisite guides.

Step 1 | Remove Back Cover.

Ensure the device is not charging before starting work.

  • Access the phone by prying from the lower left corner with a fingernail or a plastic opening tool.
  • Pull off the back casing after gaining access.

Step 2 | Remove the Battery.

Remove the outer casing completely.

  • The back should resemble the following image.
  • Pull up on the red mark using your finger to remove the battery.
  • The battery will come out at an angle, allowing for easy removal.
  • Once removed, safely proceed with the next step.

Step 3 | Screw Removal

  • Remove the battery before proceeding.
  • Locate and count the 14 Phillips head screws on the back of the inner case.
  • Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove each screw, storing them safely in a separate location.

Step 4 | Remove Cover

Remove all screws.

  • Insert the opening tool into a corner, using a sliding motion.
  • Move the opening tool along the edges to loosen them.
  • The inside cover will pry apart from the shell.

Step 5 | Completion

Access the internal components by examining the exposed areas.

Step 6 | Speaker Removal.

Insert the plastic opening tool between the inner side of the inside cover and the speaker module.

Be careful not to damage the speaker wires.

Step 7 | Completetion

Remove the speaker for easy replacement.
