LG Optimus G Pro SIM/MicroSD Assembly Replacement

Remove the inside cover for access to the SD/SIM card ports.

Step 1 | Remove Back Cover.

Ensure the device is not charging before starting work.

  • Locate the small indent on the bottom left side of the phone.
  • Pry the back casing off using a fingernail or plastic opening tool.

Step 2 | Remove the Battery.

Locate the battery with the red mark on it.

  • Pull the battery upwards from the red mark using your finger.
  • The battery should come out at an angle and can be easily removed.

Do not proceed until the battery is completely removed.

Step 3 | Screw Removal

Remove the battery first.

  • Count and remove the 14 Phillips head screws on the back of the inner case.
  • Store the screws in a safe location to avoid loss.

Step 4 | Remove Cover

Remove all screws.

  • Insert an opening tool into a corner, using a sliding motion.
  • Move the tool along the edges to loosen the inside cover.
  • The cover will pry apart from the shell.

Step 5 | Completion

The inner cover has been successfully removed, allowing access to the phone's internal components.

Step 6 | Remove the Ribbon Cable

Disconnect the ribbon cable from the phone using a plastic opening tool, applying even pressure.

Step 7 | Remove the Sisterboard.

Identify the metal platform under the sister board, not the orange printed circuit board.

  • Pry at the right red marked corner with your tool, lifting the metal platform first.
  • Continue to pull along the underside until reaching the left red mark.
  • If still stuck, try prying at the orange mark while maintaining focus on the metal platform underneath.

Step 8 | Completed.

Remove the sisterboard using your plastic opening tool or your fingers.
