LG Optimus G Pro Rear Facing Camera Replacement

Accessing the rear-facing camera requires completion of the inner cover.

Step 1 | Remove Back Cover.

Ensure the device is disconnected from power before starting repair.

  • Locate the bottom left corner of the phone, where there's a small indentation.
  • Pry the back casing open using your fingernail or a plastic opening tool, then pull it off.

Step 2 | Remove the Battery.

Be careful when handling the battery — risk of damage.

  • Locate the red mark on the case.
  • Pull up from the red mark using your finger to remove the battery.
  • The battery will come out at an angle and can be easily removed.

Step 3 | Screw Removal

Remove the battery first.

  • Identify the 14 Phillips head screws on the inner case back.
  • Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove each screw, storing them safely to avoid loss.

Step 4 | Remove Cover

Be careful not to apply too much force, which may damage the cover.

  • Insert a opening tool into one corner of the inside cover using a sliding motion.
  • Move the tool along the edges to loosen them.
  • The inside cover will pry apart from the shell.

Step 5 | Completion

Access the internal components by removing the inner cover.

Step 6 | Remove the Ribbon Cable

  • Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the cable away from the phone.
  • Apply even pressure to release the cable from the logic board.

Step 7 | Remove the Camera

Disconnect the Ribbon Cable.

  • The Rear-Facing Camera can now be removed by hand.
