Step 1 | Remove Back Cover.

Ensure the device is not charging before starting repairs.

  • Locate the bottom left corner of the phone.
  • Pry off the back casing using a fingernail or a plastic opening tool.

Step 2 | Remove the Battery.

Remove the outer casing properly.

The back should look like this after removal.

  • Pull up on the red mark from underneath using your finger to remove the battery.
  • The battery should come out at an angle and can be easily removed.

You may proceed with the next step once the battery is removed safely.

Step 3 | Screw Removal

Remove the battery first.

  • Identify and count the 14 Phillips head screws on the inner case back.
  • Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove each screw, placing them in a safe location to avoid loss.

Step 4 | Remove Cover

Remove all screws.

  • Insert the opening tool into a corner, using a sliding motion.
  • Move it along the edges of the inside cover to loosen them.
  • The inside cover will pry apart from the shell.

Step 5 | Completion

The inner cover has been successfully removed.

  • You now have access to the various internal components.

Step 6 | Remove the Ribbon Cable

Disconnect the connection between the phone and the ribbon cable using a plastic opening tool.

Apply even pressure when disconnecting the cable.

Step 7 | Remove the Sisterboard.

Careful not to pry the printed circuit board itself.

  • Pry at the metal platform under the sister board, marked by red lines.
  • Pull from the right corner, then along the underside until reaching the left red mark.
  • If still stuck, try prying at the orange circuit board mark, but be sure to target the metal platform below.

Step 8 | Completed.

Use a plastic opening tool or your bare hands to lift and remove the sisterboard.

Step 9 | Remove Ribbon Cables

  • Disconnect the 4 ribbon cable connections using a plastic opening tool.
  • Separate the antenna from the logic board.

Step 10 | Remove Adhesive.

Apply a spudger to the top right corner of the logic board, sliding it towards the center orange mark.

Do not apply excessive pressure, which may damage the logic board.

Continue applying gentle parallel pressure until the logic board loosens from its adhesive connection.

Step 11 | Remove the Speaker.

Remove the Front-Facing Speaker using a Plastic Opening Tool.
