Hold the phone firmly in one hand.

• Position the small plastic opening tool or your finger under the phone's lip, near the USB port.
• Pry up on the indent with a gentle lifting motion using the opening tool.

Continue carefully to avoid damaging any internal components.

Once the back panel is loose, you can remove it completely.

Insert small plastic opening tool or your finger into the indentation at the base of the battery.

• Pry upwards or gently lift the battery using the tool or your finger.
• Remove the battery from its compartment.

Remove the eight 4mm screws with the Phillips #000 Screwdriver.

Insert the iFixit opening tool into the indentation.

• Pry the plastic with the opening tool to loosen the lower back panel.
• Remove the lower back panel from the device completely.

• Insert the iFixit opening tool under the charging port.
• Pry at the edges with the iFixit opening tool until the back panel is loose.
• Remove the back panel.

Locate the digitizer connector in the lower left-hand corner.

• Tweezers: Gently lift the digitizer connector upwards to release it.

Start by gently prying the motherboard from the digitizer, beginning under the charging port.

• Complete removal of the motherboard
• Replace the motherboard
