LG Optimus F60 Charging Port Replacement

Replacing the charging port requires advanced soldering skills and may take around 25-35 minutes to complete.

  • Target device: LG Optimus F60
  • Task: Replace faulty or broken charging port

Step 1 | Battery

Place the phone on a flat surface.

  • Position the small plastic opening tool or your finger under the phone's lip near the USB port.
  • Lift up gently on the tool to release the indent.

Be careful not to damage the phone's casing.

Remove the back panel.

Locate the indentation at the base of the battery.

  • Insert a small plastic opening tool or use your finger into the indentation.
  • Pry the battery upwards or lift it out with your finger to remove it.

Remove the eight 4mm screws with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

Insert the iFixit opening tool into the indentation.

  • Pry the plastic using the iFixit opening tool to remove the lower back panel.
  • Remove the lower back panel from the device.

Locate the iFixit opening tool and insert it under the charging port.

  • Pry at the edges until the device is loose enough to remove.
  • Remove the back panel.

Locate the digitizer connector at the lower left corner.

  • Gently use tweezers to lift up and remove the connector.

Locate the charging port on the digitizer.

  • Pry the motherboard gently from under the charging port.
  • Remove and replace the motherboard.

Step 8 | Charging Port

Use a soldering iron to remove the charging port.

  • For desoldering instructions, refer to this guide.
  • Remove the old charging port and replace it with a new one.
