LG Optimus F3 Motherboard Replacement

  • Objective: Replace motherboard in LG Optimus F3 device.

Step 1 | Motherboard

Turn the device with the back facing up.

  • Open the case near the charging port, located at the bottom of the phone.
  • Remove the back case: push up on the back and pull down on the face as shown in the image.

  • Identify the battery, located beneath the back case.
  • Flip up the bottom edge of the battery to release it from its housing.

Locate and remove the 10 x 1.0 mm screws on the back of the device.

  • Consult the provided image for outlined locations, noting the positions of these screws.

  • Insert the plastic opening tool between the case, then wiggle it to create separation.
  • Apply gentle leverage with the tool to pry the inner case away from the device.

Locate the camera unit at the top left of the phone, identifiable by a silver box with a black lens.

Be cautious when handling the motherboard and surrounding components.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to separate the camera unit from the motherboard.
  • Insert the plastic tool between the camera unit and the motherboard, wiggling it gently to loosen the camera unit.

Remove the rear facing camera with a pair of tweezers.

Use a plastic opening tool to pry apart the SIM card and memory card connector from the motherboard.

Note that the SIM card and memory card connector are integrated into a single unit.

  • Lever the plastic tool to lift the SIM-memory unit away from the motherboard.

Step 8

Remove the charging port unit using a plastic opening tool.

  • Wedge the plastic opening tool between the charging port unit and the motherboard
  • Separate the charging port unit from the motherboard.

Step 9

Locate the L-shaped motherboard situated above and to the left of the battery encasement.

  • Position the plastic opening tool between the circuit board and the motherboard.
  • Wedge the plastic opening tool in to separate the unit from the circuit board.
