LG Optimus F3 Charging port unit Replacement

Step 1 | Motherboard

Turn the device over so the back is facing upwards.

  • Locate the charging port at the bottom of the phone and pry open the case nearby.
  • Remove the back case by pushing up on the back while pulling down on the face, as illustrated in the image.

The battery is the large square object visible with the back case removed.

  • Flip the bottom edge of the battery upward to separate it from the case.

Locate and remove 10 x 1.0mm screws from the device's back using a screwdriver.

  • Consult the provided image for specific screw locations.

Insert the plastic opening tool between the case, wedging it in place.

  • Pry the case open using a gentle rocking motion and controlled leverage.

Be cautious not to damage nearby components while separating the case.

Careful not to damage the image sensor.

  • Locate the camera module at the top left of the phone, indicated by a silver box with a black lens.
  • Use the plastic opening tool to separate the camera unit from the motherboard.
  • Wedge the plastic tool between the camera module and the motherboard to loosen the unit.

Disconnect and remove the rear facing camera using a pair of tweezers.

Insert a plastic opening tool between the SIM card and memory card connector.

  • SIM-card/microSD unit is one single piece, so do not attempt to separate them.
  • Lift up the unit using the plastic tool as a wedge.

Insert the plastic opening tool into the gap between the charging port unit and the motherboard.

  • Pry the port unit away from the motherboard using the plastic opening tool.

Step 9

Locate the L-shaped motherboard situated above and to the left of the battery encasement.

  • Insert a plastic opening tool between the circuit board and the motherboard.
  • Gently wedge the tool to separate the unit from the rest of the motherboard.

Step 10 | Charging port unit

Remove the 1.0mm screw.

Remove the front glass protector with a plastic opening tool.

Careful handling of the front glass cover is crucial to avoid damaging the connector.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to gently remove the front glass cover.
  • Avoid applying excessive pressure, which may damage the connector.

Remove the front-facing camera by lifting it gently out of its socket.

Remove the home button board using a plastic opening tool, taking care as it is attached with dual-sided adhesive.

Remove the charging port unit with a plastic opening tool.
