LG Motion 4G MS770 Motherboard Replacement
- If the phone won't turn on or has system errors, and troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue, proceed to the next step.
Replacing a broken motherboard requires technical expertise; improper installation may damage the device beyond repair.
- Acquire a compatible replacement motherboard.
- Follow proper motherboard replacement procedures and take necessary precautions to avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Step 1 | Remove the phone's back cover.
Remove the back cover using a plastic opening tool.
Step 2 | Remove the battery.
Remove the battery by lifting it from the bottom right corner using a plastic opening tool.
Step 3 | Remove screws.
Remove four 4mm screws from each side of the device using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Step 4
Remove the back trim using a plastic opening tool, working around all edges.
Step 5
Remove the volume button assembly from the phone's side.
Step 6 | Speaker
Use a plastic opening tool to pry under the silver square, lifting the speaker off.
- Be aware that removing the speaker will lift a small tab underneath it.
Step 7 | Rear Facing Camera
Careful not to damage the camera or surrounding components.
- Pry slightly underneath the tab attached to the camera using a tool like a plastic spudger.
- Continue prying until the tab pops off.
Step 8
Remove the camera with tweezers, applying moderate pressure may be required due to adhesive.
Step 9 | Motherboard
Use a plastic opening tool to pry off the circled tabs and release the motherboard.
Step 10
Remove the motherboard from the phone.
- Lift it straight up and away from the phone's components.
