LG K7 Volume & On/Off Buttons Replacement
The power and volume buttons on your LG K7 allow you to turn it on/off and adjust the volume. If they stop working, wear is usually the cause; however, you can replace them within 25 minutes using these steps:
Step 1 | Volume & On/Off Buttons
Remove the back cover with a plastic opening tool.
- Next, remove the battery using a plastic opening tool.
Step 2
Be careful not to damage the frame as it is made of thin plastic.
- Remove nine 4mm Phillips #000 screws.
- The cover should come off easily once the screws are removed.
- Gently lift the frame out.
Step 3
Use a plastic opening tool to pry off the silver button housing.
Step 4
Remove the plastic opening tool from the package.
- Insert the tool into the gap between the screen and the rest of the phone.
- Pry up each plastic tab, working your way around the phone for best results.
Do not bend the outer frame or screen when separating them, as this can severely damage the phone.
Step 5
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully peel off the orange cable.
Step 6
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the volume/power button cable away from the rest of the phone, breaking the adhesive.
- Apply gentle pressure on both sides of the cable to avoid damaging it.
