LG K7 Rear Facing Camera Replacement
If your rear camera is damaged or malfunctioning, proceed with caution and follow these steps carefully to avoid further damage.
- Identify the broken rear camera module attached to the phone's chassis.
- Use a soft cloth to wipe away any debris or dust from around the module.
- Gently pry up the camera module bracket using a spudger.
- Continue prying until the bracket is fully detached, taking care not to damage surrounding components.
- The faulty rear camera will now be accessible for removal or replacement.
Step 1 | Battery
Insert fingertip into slot at bottom edge.
- Pull up on back panel while holding phone steady with hand.
- Avoid excessive force, as back panel may break.
Step 2
Press the battery release latch with your fingernail.
- Pull the battery out from its compartment.
Step 3 | Rear Facing Camera
Remove the 9 frame screws using a JIS #00 screwdriver.
- The bottom three screws release the port cover at the bottom of the phone.
- Lift off the port cover once the screws are removed.
- Pry the camera button frame off with a spudger, and the home button should come off along with it.
Be gentle when handling the frame, as it is made of thin plastic and can easily break.
Step 4
Be careful not to bend the outer frame or screen — severe damage may result.
- Use a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the outer frame.
Step 5
Careful not to damage the camera connector or surrounding components.
- Insert a plastic opening tool under the camera connector, which is held by a thin, flexible sheet.
- Lever the connector free using the opening tool's handle, focusing on one edge for a smooth release.
