LG K7 Headphone Jack Replacement

A faulty headphone jack may prevent audio from playing through your headphones.

  • Check for damage to the headphone jack.
  • Look for replacement headphone jacks online if necessary.

Step 1 | Battery

Be careful not to apply too much force, as excessive pulling can damage the back panel.

  • Insert a fingernail into the slot at the bottom edge of the phone.
  • Hold the rest of the phone steady with one hand and gently lift up on the back panel with your other hand.

Locate the battery slot and insert a fingernail to release it.

  • Pull the battery out from its housing.

Remove the nine frame screws using a #J00 screwdriver.

  • The bottom three screws release the port cover at the bottom of the phone.
  • (The cover should lift off easily once the screws are out.)
  • Pop the camera button frame off with a spudger.
  • The home button and frame should come off together.
  • Be gentle when removing the frame, as it is thin and prone to breaking.

Bending the outer frame or screen can severely damage the phone.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the outer frame.
  • Release each plastic tab one at a time around the phone for easy removal.

Careful not to damage internal components when separating headphone jack.

  • Position a plastic opening tool under the headphone jack.
  • Lift the plastic opening tool to release the headphone jack from the main body.
