LG K7 Charging Port Replacement

Prolonged exposure to soldering iron heat may cause burns — handle with care.

  • The charging port on the LG K7 can fail due to shock or wear.
  • To replace it, you will need a soldering iron.
  • Replacement takes approximately 30 minutes when following this guide.

  • Use the plastic opening tool to remove the back cover.
  • Employ the plastic opening tool to remove the battery.

Handle the frame carefully, as its thin plastic may crack easily.

  • Remove all nine 4mm Phillips #000 screws.
  • The cover should come off without resistance once the screws are removed.

Bending the outer frame or screen can cause severe damage to your phone.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to pry the screen off from the edge of the phone.
  • Release each plastic tab around the phone to detach the frame completely.
  • Bend neither the outer frame nor the screen during disassembly.

Step 4

Insert the plastic opening tool between the blue motherboard and black plate.

  • Pry gently until the motherboard separates from the plate.

Soldering iron is extremely hot; use with caution and avoid touching nearby components.

  • Apply heat to each of the four connection points using a soldering iron.
  • Gently push the port away from the device once it's heated.
