LG K7 T-Mobile Motherboard Replacement

When handling the motherboard, exercise caution to avoid damaging its connections.

  • Identify the motherboard in your LG-K7 device.
  • Locate and carefully disconnect all components connected to the motherboard.

Step 1 | Battery

Flip the LG K7 over with the back facing up.

  • Identify a small notch on the lower left corner.

Use a plastic opening tool to pry the back cover from the notch.

  • Lift the back cover upwards.
  • Hold the bottom portion of the phone firmly in place.

Disconnect the battery.

Remove the nine 3.4 mm screws using a Phillips 00 screwdriver.

  • Located on the phone's rear housing.
  • Remove all nine screws for disassembly.

Turn the phone over with the screen facing up.

  • Insert a plastic opening tool between the midframe and front panel assembly on the side of the phone.
  • Slide the tool down the seams carefully to separate the screen from the rest of the housing.

  • Locate the lock holding the camera's ribbon cable.
  • Carefully remove the ribbon cable using a plastic removal tool to avoid damage or strain.

  • Pull upwards on the released ribbon cable to dislodge the camera from its housing.

Locate the headphone jack at the bottom right of the phone.

  • Position a plastic removal tool underneath the headphone jack.
  • Lift the tool upward to dislodge the earphone jack from its mounting.

Locate the front facing camera's ribbon.

  • Use a plastic removal tool to carefully disconnect the camera's ribbon cable from the motherboard.
  • Pull upwards on the released camera ribbon, and the front facing camera should come loose.

Take note of the band connecting the screen display to the motherboard.

  • Remove this band.

Identify the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the motherboard.

  • Remove the screen's ribbon cable carefully from the motherboard using a plastic removal tool.
  • Lift the ribbon cable upwards when removing.

Insert a plastic opening tool between the motherboard and phone casing.

Hold down a portion of the phone with one finger to prevent components shifting during removal.

  • Pull upwards on the plastic opening tool to create space between the board and case.
  • Lift the motherboard from the phone casing using your hands, taking care not to damage any components.
