Welcome to our disassembly guide for the LG K40.
Place the back of the phone against the heat pad.
Place the phone screen facedown away from the heatpad.
Remove the rear touch sensor ribbon cable using a spudger.
Ensure all cables are secure before setting the back panel aside.
Use a PH000 screw bit to remove the 15 screws from the internal motherboard casing.
Push in the plastic tabs around the casing to release the top half of the cover.
Be gentle when removing the bottom half, as it may damage the board underneath.
Unplug the ribbon cable near the top of the battery.
Lift the Motherboard by first removing the SIM Card tray located at the bottom right half of the casing.
Lift the vibrating unit from the top left corner of the case, taking care to support its weight.
