LG K30 Screen Replacement
Avoid damaging the camera's connecting points and the frame when prying off the front-facing camera.
- Prepare for replacing the screen touch digitizer display with frame on the LG K30.
- When removing the front-facing camera, handle it carefully to prevent damage.
Step 1 | Battery
Discharging a fully charged lithium-ion battery below 25% reduces the risk of explosion or fire in the event of accidental damage.
- Power off your phone before disassembly.
- Use a Jimmy and Metal Spudger to carefully pry open the back case.
Step 2
Remove thirteen 3.4 mm Phillips #00 screws from the midframe.
Be careful not to damage the surrounding components.
Step 3
Insert metal spudger or plastic opening tool into the gap and gently pry open the outer cover.
Step 4
Use the flat end of a spudger to detach the battery connector from the logic board.
Step 5
Do not bend or puncture the battery, as this can cause a risk of fire.
- Pry the battery from the phone using a spudger.
- Gently pry to avoid damage or puncture, in case there is adhesive on the phone and battery.
Step 6 | Motherboard
Disconnect the front camera connector using a spudger.
- Disconnect the display cable connector with a spudger.
Step 7
Use a spudger or your hands to gently pry off the motherboard assembly from the display assembly.
Step 8 | Screen
- Pry out the front-facing camera using a plastic spudger.
- Reassemble with the new screen/frame
