LG K30 Rear Facing Camera Replacement

A "Warning: Camera Failed" message or a cracked camera lens indicates your LG K30 Phone requires a new rear-facing camera. Ensure your phone is fully powered down before proceeding.

  • Prepare for the installation by powering off your LG K30 Phone completely.

Step 1 | Battery

Discharge the battery below 25% to avoid fire or explosion risk, as a charged lithium-ion battery can be hazardous if damaged.

  • Power off your phone before disassembly.
  • Use a 'Jimmy' and 'Metal Spudger' to carefully pry open the back case from the outside.

  • Remove 13 Phillips #00 screws, each measuring 3.4 mm, that secure the midframe to the display assembly.

Use a metal spudger or plastic opening tool to gently pry open the outer cover.

Insert the flat end of a spudger under the battery connector and gently pry it off the logic board.

Avoid bending or puncturing the battery — risk of short circuit.

  • Pry the battery from the phone using a spudger.
  • Be gentle to avoid damaging adhesive on both components, if present.

Step 6 | Motherboard

Disconnect the front camera connector using a spudger.

  • Disconnect the display cable connector using a spudger.

Use a spudger or your bare hands to gently dislodge the motherboard assembly from the display assembly.

Step 8 | Rear Facing Camera

Do not pry directly on the connector — use a Spudger.

  • Flip the release tab of the rear-facing camera cable ZIF connector using a Spudger.
  • Remove the rear-facing camera.
