LG K30 Front-Facing Camera Replacement

Careful handling is required to avoid damaging wire connections.

  • Follow the steps below to replace the front-facing camera for the LG K30.
  • This repair is relatively straightforward, but proceed with caution to prevent accidental damage to wires or connectors.

Step 1 | Battery

Never attempt to remove a fully charged lithium-ion battery, as it may catch fire or explode if punctured.

Charge your LG K30 to below 25% before disassembly.

  • Power off the Phone before starting disassembly.
  • Use a Jimmy and a Metal Spudger to carefully pry open the back case.

Remove the thirteen 3.4 mm Phillips #00 screws that secure the midframe to the display assembly.

Remove the outer cover with a metal spudger or plastic opening tool.

Detach the battery connector from the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

Never bend or puncture the battery, as this can cause damage.

  • Use a spudger to carefully pry the battery from the phone.
  • Gently separate any adhesive on the back of the battery and the phone to avoid damaging either component.

Step 6 | Front-Facing Camera

Disconnect the cable connector with the plastic spudger.

Step 7

Use a spudger to carefully pry the front-facing camera away from the device.
