LG K20 PLUS Motherboard Removal

Step 1 | Remove the back cover and battery

Insert a fingernail or opening pick into the designated area to release the plastic clips.

Be careful not to damage surrounding components.

Lift up the battery to access its mounting points.

Step 2 | Midframe

Remove 11 Philips screws.

Use a credit card or opening pick to pry the midframe from its plastic clips.

  • Begin at the top edge of the device and work your way down, ensuring all clips are released.
  • Be careful not to damage any components, as the headphone jack passes through the midframe.

Step 4 | Rear-Facing Camera

  • Disconnect the front camera flex from its connector using a Halberd spudger or an opening pick.

Step 5 | Motherboard Removal

Disconnect the display flex cable from its socket on the motherboard using a Halberd spudger or an opening pick.

  • Insert an opening pick between the motherboard and frame, starting from the bottom, to lever apart.
  • Be careful not to break the motherboard.

    The top part of the motherboard is lightly adhered to the frame — risk of damage.

  • After removal, compare the original and replacement parts. Some components may be installed on the new display assembly.
