LG Intuition Screen Protector Replacement

A cracked screen protector or one that interferes with touch commands can damage your device.

  • Follow this guide to replace your screen protector.

Step 1 | Battery

Rotate the device to reveal the two lower screws.

  • Use the magnetic driver with a P5 bit to remove the two 7mm screws.

Step 3

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back panel away from the front screen.

Be cautious not to damage either component.

Step 4

Remove the Phillips #0 screw using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  • The screw is located near the metal bracket protecting the battery's ribbon cable.
  • The bracket has five 5mm screws, and this screw is one of them.
  • Remove only this single screw, as it holds the metal bracket in place.

Be cautious when handling the ribbon cable — risk of damage.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the ribbon cable
  • The cable connects the battery to the motherboard.

Carefully lift the battery out of its holder.

Step 7 | Plastic Motherboard Shield

Remove the 13 x 5mm screws from the plastic shield with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Step 8

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the plastic shield away from the motherboard.

  • This will expose the motherboard and ribbon cables for each component.

Step 9 | Camera

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the ribbon cable free from the motherboard, located below the camera.

Locate the ribbon cable underneath the camera lens and gently lift it upwards.

  • Pull the camera assembly straight out from its housing.

Step 11 | Volume Buttons

Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the ribbon cable connecting the battery to the motherboard.

  • Pull the ribbon cable upward slowly, releasing the volume buttons from the phone.

Step 12 | Screen Protector

Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the ribbon cable below the volume buttons on the left side.

  • Continue with the same tool, prying the ribbon cable to the left of the camera.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the wire connecting to the bottom home and back display buttons.
  • Similarly, use the plastic opening tool to carefully pry the second wire on the right side of the battery, which also connects to the bottom home and back display buttons.

Use the plastic opening tool with care when prying the motherboard from the front screen.

Remove the 5mm Phillips #00 screw located below the volume buttons.

  • It secures the plastic shield to the screen display.

Next, remove the 5mm Phillips #00 screw on the top right of the phone.

Be careful when handling the ribbon cable to avoid damage.

  • Pull the ribbon cable upward and away from the front screen display.

Use caution when prying the screen protector — risk of damage.

  • Employ a plastic opening tool to gently pry the screen protector.
  • Aim at the edges where the protector adheres to both the display and motherboard.

Separate the screen protector from the front screen slowly.

  • The protector should now be removed from the phone.
