LG Intuition Plastic Motherboard Shield Replacement
This guide consolidates multiple replacement procedures into a single, streamlined process.
Step 1 | Battery
Position the device to expose the lower two screws.
Step 2
Use the magnetic driver and P5 bit to remove the two 7mm screws securing the back panel.
Step 3
Careful prying required — damage risk to screen.
- Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the back panel from the front screen.
- This will expose the battery and other internal components.
Step 4
Remove the Phillips #0 screw using a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
- The screw holds the metal bracket in place.
- The metal bracket protects the battery's ribbon cable.
Step 5
Careful not to damage the ribbon cable when prying it from the motherboard.
- Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the ribbon cable connected between the battery and the motherboard.
Step 6
Hold the battery by the edges and carefully lift it out of the compartment.
Step 7 | Plastic Motherboard Shield
Remove the 13 x 5mm screws that hold the plastic shield in place, using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Step 8
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry the plastic shield away from the motherboard.
- The shield should release, exposing the motherboard and ribbon cables.
