LG G8 ThinQ Midframe Replacement

If your LG G8 ThinQ's midframe is damaged or broken, replacement is crucial for the phone's functionality and durability.

  • Before starting, power down the device completely and unplug from any power source.
  • Keep the SIM card safe and accessible to avoid losing it during repair.

Step 1 | SIM Card Tray

Unplug and power off your phone.

  • Insert the SIM card eject tool into the pinhole on the lower right side.
  • Use the tool to remove the SIM card and tray.

Step 2 | Back Panel

  • Place the phone screen down on a flat surface.
  • Insert opening cards between the back panel and frame.
    • Apply even pressure to loosen clips and adhesive.

    Using an opening tool, carefully pry the back panel away.

  • Continue until enough space is created for a complete separation.

Step 3 | Midframe

Remove all 14 screws from the midframe with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

  • Use an opening tool to carefully pry around the perimeter of the midframe.
  • Continue prying until the midframe is completely removed from the phone.
