LG G8 ThinQ Front Cameras Replacement

Step 1 | SIM Card Tray

Unplug and power off your phone.

  • Insert the SIM card eject tool into the pinhole in the lower right side of the phone.
  • Remove the SIM card and tray.

Step 2 | Back Panel

Place the phone with the screen facing down.

  • Insert opening cards between the back panel and frame to loosen clips and adhesive.
  • Pry the back panel away from the phone using equal pressure, taking care not to apply too much force.
  • Once space has been created, use an opening tool to completely separate the back panel from the phone.

Step 3 | Midframe

Remove the midframe by taking out its 14 Phillips #000 screws.

  • Insert a Phillips #000 screwdriver and remove all screws.
  • Pry the midframe off using an opening tool

Step 4 | Front Cameras

Disconnect both ribbon cables from camera units with an opening tool.

Remove both cameras with an opening tool, prying carefully.
