LG G7 ThinQ Speaker System Replacement

Ensure the phone is completely powered down before proceeding to prevent damage or electric shock.

  • Inspect the external speakers for debris buildup using an ESD-safe brush or small dust blower. Remove any accumulated dust as necessary.
  • The speaker system produces all external sound; a faulty speaker causes distorted or no audio.

Step 1 | SIM Card

Insert the SIM card eject tool into the hole in the SIM card slot.

  • The SIM card tray should now be ejected.
  • Remove the SIM card tray from the phone.
  • Take out the SIM card.

Step 2 | Back Cover

Place the phone so the back cover is facing upwards.

  • Insert one opening pick on each side of the phone using equal pressure.
  • Careful, extra adhesive near the cameras may require additional attention to remove.

  • If necessary, use the Jimmy to assist with initial removal.
  • Choose a pick that offers good leverage and use it to pry the back cover away from the phone.

Step 3 | Speaker System

Check your device for a midframe. If present, refer to the teardown video for removal.

  • Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove screws along the perimeter and central area of the phone.

Step 4 | Remove the speaker system

  • Use either your fingers or tweezers to carefully remove the speaker system.
