LG G4 Speaker Replacement

Changing the speaker may damage other components if not done correctly. Proceed with caution.

  • Locate the faulty speaker unit.
  • Disconnect the speaker wires from the amplifier circuit.
  • Remove the old speaker and install a new one of the same specifications.
  • Reconnect the speaker wires to the amplifier circuit.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Power off the phone.

  • Locate the groove at the bottom left side of the device and insert a plastic opening tool.
  • Pry up the rear cover gently.

Insert the plastic opening tool at the battery's bottom edge.

  • Lift upwards to dislodge the battery.
  • Remove the battery from its housing using both hands.

  • Remove the eleven 3.9 mm Phillips #00 screws located at the back of the phone.

Lift carefully to avoid damaging the surrounding components.

  • Insert the plastic opening tool into the lower left corner of the device.
  • Lift the cover firmly using the tool.
  • Remove the cover completely with your fingers, taking care not to pinch any cables or components.

Step 5 | Speaker

Be careful when handling the speaker as it is a fragile component.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to release the top clip of the bottom panel portion.
  • Slide the bottom portion of the panel downward, away from the top portion.
  • The speaker unit is contained within the detached bottom panel portion as a single part.
