LG G4 Rear Camera Replacement
Familiarize yourself with the device's internal components — risk of damage if handled improperly.
- Remove the display assembly using a plastic spudger.
- Disconnect the battery connector before proceeding.
- Locate and detach the back camera module from its mounting bracket.
- Remove any additional screws securing the new back camera module in place.
- Install the new back camera module, ensuring all connectors are secure.
Step 1 | Back Cover
Power down the phone.
- Insert a plastic opening tool into the groove at the bottom left side.
- Pry the rear cover gently upwards with the tool.
Step 2
Position the plastic opening tool at the lower edge of the battery.
- Lift upwards on the tool to dislodge the battery.
- Caution: Handle the battery carefully when removing it from the device.
Step 3
Remove eleven 3.9 mm Phillips #00 screws from the back of the phone.
Step 4
Be careful not to touch any internal components.
- Insert a plastic opening tool into the lower left corner.
- Lift the cover firmly using the tool.
- Use your fingers to detach and remove the cover.
Step 5 | Motherboard
Remove four press-fit connectors using a plastic spudger or opening tool:
- Front-facing camera connector.
- Rear-facing camera connector.
- Digitizer connector.
The rear-facing camera may be secured with two-sided tape. Gently move the camera with the spudger before lifting the motherboard. If stuck, use the same tool to pry it from the frame carefully to avoid damaging the cable in the next step.
Step 6
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully lift the motherboard
- Hold the motherboard from underneath with your fingers.
- Lift upwards slowly, taking care not to touch any components on either side.
Step 7 | Rear Camera
Insert plastic opening tool under the ribbon near the rear camera cable connector.
Lift slowly until the cable detaches from the motherboard.
