LG G4 Headphone Port Replacement

This repair guide walks you through replacing your device's headphone jack.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Ensure the phone is powered off.

  • Pry up the rear cover using a plastic opening tool placed in the groove on the bottom left side.

Insert plastic opening tool at bottom edge of battery.

Lift up carefully, then gently remove battery by hand.

  • Remove the eleven 3.9 mm Phillips #00 screws located at the back of the phone.

  • Remove all screws from the device.
  • Be careful when lifting the cover, as it may be fragile.

    • Insert the plastic opening tool into the lower left corner and lift upwards firmly.
    • Detach the cover with your fingers.

Step 5 | Headphone Port

Insert a plastic opening tool between the mother board and the ribbons, under the connections for each of the three cables.

Be careful not to damage the cables or their connections.

  • Gently lift up on the tool to detach each cable from the mother board.

Use a plastic opening tool to pry the motherboard upwards.

  • Gently lift the motherboard with both hands, starting from the edge closest to you.

Locate the plastic opening tool and position it under the upper left corner of the headphone port.

  • Lift up firmly, taking care that the adhesive holding the port in place is loosened.
  • Once loose, carefully remove the headphone port with your hands.
