LG G3 Loudspeaker Replacement

The loudspeaker in the LG G3 (D855) is located on the bottom half of the plastic panel above the daughterboard and must be replaced with a new one along with the panel itself.

Step 1 | Back Cover

Power off your device.

  • Insert a thumbnail or spudger into the notch at the bottom left of the back cover.
  • Pry the back cover up to separate its plastic clips.

Remove the back cover by lifting it upwards.

  • In case it doesn't release completely, use your fingernail or prying tool to loosen remaining midframe clips.
  • To reattach, press the back cover firmly into place until you hear a snap from the plastic clips engaging.

Step 3 | Battery

Use a fingernail or a prying tool at the marked notch to pry the battery out.

Remove the battery from its recess.

Step 5 | Loudspeaker

Remove Phillips #00 screws with 4 mm length.

Do not insert anything other than a thumbnail or a prying tool to avoid damaging the back cover.

  • Insert a thumbnail or a spudger into the notch at the bottom left of the back cover.
  • Pry up the plastic panel, including the loudspeaker, until you can get a good grip.

Remove the plastic panel, which includes the loudspeaker, by gently pulling it away from the phone assembly.
