The front-facing camera might be faulty, but it's also possible that a loose ribbon cable is causing issues.
Power down your device.
Remove the back cover by lifting it and releasing any remaining plastic clips.
Make sure the back cover snaps into place securely.
Apply pressure to the marked notch with a fingernail or a prying tool.
Remove the battery from its compartment.
Remove the four Phillips #00 screws, each 4mm in length.
Insert a thumbnail or plastic spudger into the notch at the bottom left of the back cover.
Remove the plastic panel and loudspeaker together, gently prying them away from the phone assembly.
Remove the eight Phillips #00 screws, each 4 mm in length.
Insert an opening pick between the bottom right corner of the motherboard cover and the motherboard.
Locate the motherboard cover and carefully lift its right edge.
Verify that the ribbon cable is properly attached.
Identify and disconnect the remaining three ribbon cable connectors from the motherboard.
Remove the motherboard by lifting it gently.
Damage to the ribbon cables can result in non-functioning of other components.
Be cautious when removing the front-facing camera as excessive force can cause it to launch across the room.
Disconnect the front-facing camera cable.
