LG G2 Sprint Vibe Motor Replacement

Most disassembly is required to access the vibe motor, so carefully keep track of each screw and part removed.

  • Paying special attention, note any parts glued in place, as these may be missed during reassembly.

Step 1 | Charger Port

Flip your phone over and use a plastic opening tool to pry open the phone case.

  • Slide the tool between the two sides of the phone case, working towards the bottom.
  • Gently pry the case open with consistent pressure until you hear the clip pop open.

Release the top left corner clip carefully as it can be stubborn.

Remove the outer phone case.

  • Prepare two Phillips head bits: one J0 and one J000.
  • Use J0 bit for all 11 silver screws.
  • Use J000 bit for the small black screw.

Locate the upper left clip on the upper panel and use a plastic opening tool to gently pry it loose.

  • The upper inside panel should now flip up easily, removing all clips and screws first is crucial.
  • If the panel doesn't come off smoothly, double-check that you have removed all necessary screws.
  • Also, carefully pry away any ribbon cables from the board to prevent damage.

Ensure all screws are removed before attempting to pry the bottom panel.

  • Pry the bottom inside panel back carefully.
  • If it does not come off easily, recheck for any remaining screws.

Take care not to damage any connected ribbon or wires.

  • Identify and release the clips and circuits marked in the images above, using a flathead screwdriver.
  • Use your tools to carefully disconnect cables at the connectors, avoiding damage along the wire.

Release the clips and circuits indicated by circles in the provided images.

  • Bend the orange material along the dotted line, keeping the fold as close to it as possible.
  • Be cautious when handling ribbon or wires to avoid damage.

Disconnect all ribbon and antennae connections.

  • Pry the board up gently from the bottom of the case.
  • Slide the board back out, ensuring all ribbon connectors are removed first.

Step 8 | Vibe Motor

Remove the vibe motor by gently prying it away from the phone case using a plastic prying tool.

When handling sensitive components like the camera, always use a plastic or ESD safe tool to avoid damage.
