LG G2 Sprint Display Assembly Replacement

All screws must be stored safely to avoid loss during final assembly step.

  • Reserve an area for storing screws that will be removed.

Careful when releasing clips as they may break easily.

  • Flip the phone over and slide a plastic opening tool between the two sides of the case at the bottom.
  • Pry gently towards the top, applying consistent pressure until the clip pops open.
  • To release the most difficult clip on the top left corner, use extra care and patience to avoid breaking it.

Remove the outer phone case.

  • Prepare two Phillips head drivers: a J0 size and a J000 size.
  • Use the J0 driver to remove 11 silver screws.
  • Use the J000 driver to remove 1 small black screw.

  • Remove the upper panel by prying the clip on the upper left side using a plastic opening tool.
  • The inside panel will lift up easily once all screws and clips are removed.
  • Be cautious when handling the ribbons, carefully pry them off the board.

Check that all screws are removed before attempting to pry the bottom panel.

  • The panel should easily pry back with a tool of choice.
  • If it does not, re-check for any remaining screws.

Careful handling required to avoid damaging attached ribbon or wires.

  • Identify and release circled clips and circuits, as shown in the provided images.
  • Use a tool to disconnect cables at connectors, not along the wire length.

Careful handling of delicate components such as ribbons and wires is essential to avoid damage.

  • Identify and release all indicated clips and circuits.
  • Bend the orange material along the "bend" line, aiming for precision near this marked point.

Disconnect all ribbon and antenna connections.

  • Remove all ribbon connectors from the board.
  • Gently pry the board up from the bottom of the case.
  • Slide the board back out.

Step 8 | Display Assembly

Avoid damaging the battery by using a plastic tool.

  • Start at the top left of the battery and slide your nylon spudger under it.
  • Use steady, firm pressure to pull the battery up, overcoming the adhesive holding it in place.
  • If the battery case begins to bend, reduce force to avoid damage.

Remove cables held in place with black tape by gently pulling them out.

  • Use a slim tool to carefully remove the vibe motor from its adhesive.
  • To lift the camera, start under the ribbon cable and pry it out using a slim plastic tool.
  • All components must be removed with ESD safe tools to prevent damage or injury.

Step 10

  • The last remaining component is the display assembly.
  • Replace it as the final step.
