LG G2 Sprint Charger Port Replacement

Damage to internal components can occur if not handled carefully.

  • Start by removing all visible screws using a screwdriver.
  • Gently disconnect the antennae cables from the logic board.
  • Lift and separate the charger port cover.
  • Remove the faulty charger port assembly, taking note of any connected wires or components.

Use a plastic opening tool to pry open your phone case.

  • Flip the phone over and slide the tool between the two sides, working towards the bottom.
  • Gently pry the case open; a clip will pop up with consistent pressure.

Carefully release the top left corner clip, as it is usually the most difficult to release.

Remove the outer phone case.

  • Prepare two Phillips head bits: one J0 and one J000.
  • Use the J0 bit to remove 11 silver screws.
  • Use the J000 bit for a small black screw.

Locate the clip on the upper left side of the upper panel.

  • Pry the clip off using a plastic opening tool.
  • The upper inside panel should flip up easily once all clips and screws are removed.
  • Ensure you've removed all screws, or check the panel's attachment.
  • Carefully pry off any attached ribbons from the board to avoid damage.

Check that all screws are removed before attempting to pry back the bottom inside panel.

  • If the panel does not come loose easily, re-examine the area for any remaining screws.
  • Pry the panel carefully with a plastic tool or similar.

Release the circled clips and circuits as shown.

  • Carefully release the clips from the attached ribbon and wires, avoiding damage.
  • Use a tool to disconnect cables at their connectors, rather than cutting along the wire.

Release the clips and circuits shown in the images above.

  • Beware of breaking any attached ribbon or wires.

Avoid touching any internal components — risk of damage.

Position the orange material to bend along the dotted line labeled "bend."

Make sure the bend is as close to the line as possible to prevent damage or malfunction.

  • Disconnect all ribbon and antennae connections.
  • Remove all ribbon connectors from the board.
  • Pry the board up gently from the case bottom, then slide it back out.
