Step 1 | Remove the Battery Cover

Place your finger in the crease between the back cover and the charging port.

  • Pry upward gently with your fingernail.
  • The cover should come off easily.

Step 2 | Remove the Battery

Locate the battery bay and identify the small groove at its lower end.

  • Pry open the battery by inserting a finger into the identified groove.
  • Remove the battery from the bay once it is loose.

Step 3 | Unscrew the Motherboard Cover

Identify 10 screws on the device.

  • Use a screwdriver to remove each screw individually.

Step 4 | Remove the Motherboard Cover

  • Insert a plastic spudger between the cover and the screen bezel.
  • Pry all the way around the phone, about every centimeter.

Continue until the cover is completely separated from the phone to avoid any damage.

Step 5 | Remove the Camera

Identify the rear-facing camera.

  • Pry the ribbon cable away from its connector with a plastic spudger.
  • Gently lift the camera out using your finger.
