Step 1 | Remove the Battery Cover

Use a fingernail to pry open the back cover at its hinge, located near the charging port.

  • Pry upward gently.
  • The cover should come off easily.

Step 2 | Remove the Battery

Locate the battery in the battery bay.

  • Pry the battery out using your finger, targeting the groove located at the lower end of the battery bay.

Step 3 | Unscrew the Motherboard Cover

  • Remove all 10 screws with a screwdriver.

Step 4 | Remove the Motherboard Cover

Locate the screen bezel on your phone.

  • Position a plastic opening tool between the screen bezel and the phone cover.
  • Pry around the phone, applying gentle pressure every centimeter, until the cover is completely separated from the phone.

Step 5 | Remove the Rear Facing Camera

  • Locate the rear-facing camera.
  • Pry the ribbon cable off its connector with a plastic spudger.
  • Remove the camera using your finger.

Step 6 | Remove the Front Facing Camera

  • Identify and locate the front-facing camera.
  • Careful not to damage the ribbon cable, use the plastic spudger tool to pry it off its connector.

  • Use your finger to carefully remove the camera.

Step 7 | Detach the Digitizer and LCD Ribbon Cables

  • Remove the ribbon cables from their connectors using either a plastic spudger or a flat head screwdriver.

Step 8 | Remove the Motherboard

Lift the motherboard by its edge with your finger.

  • Remove the motherboard from the phone.

Step 9 | Remove the Cable Security Tape

Remove the security tape tabs by pulling on them.

Securing the cables with electrical tape is optional but helps prevent movement due to daily activities.

Step 10 | Unstick the LCD Cable

Remove the LCD cable from the phone.

Step 11 | Unstick the Glass Screen

Heat the LCD screen edges with a heat gun until adhesive melts.

  • Pry the glass away from phone using a plastic spudger tool.
  • Work quickly, as glass will re-adhere when cool.
  • Note: Glass and tools may be extremely hot during this process.

Step 12 | Remove the Glass Screen

Insert the ribbon cable into its corresponding slot on the other side of the phone.

  • Guide the Digitizer ribbon cable through the hole in the case.
  • Pull the glass screen away from the phone.

Step 13 | Remove the LCD Screen

  • Pass the ribbon cable of the LCD screen through the case's access hole.
  • Pull the LCD screen away from its mounting position.
  • Now you are prepared to install a functional replacement LCD screen.

Step 14 | Making the Glass Screen Stick Again

Replace existing Digitizer if you have a full LCD and Digitizer assembly.

  • Pull off old Digitizer from screen.
  • Dispose of old Digitizer.

If reusing current digitizer, follow next steps to ensure secure attachment.

  • Remove excess adhesive from bezel of glass screen.
  • Apply 3M double sided adhesive tape to bezel for easy reinstallation.
