LG Fortune Screen Replacement

Step 1 | Battery

Locate the slit on the lower right side of the phone, or just below the left corner when viewed from the rear.

  • Pry the back cover off slowly, starting at the bottom and working up to the top.

Insert a flat tool, such as a screwdriver, into the center slot on the bottom of the battery and gently pry it upward.

Use a PH000 screwdriver to remove ten 4mm screws on the back panel.

  • Remove the back panel by hand or with a spudger.
  • Work slowly, moving side to side, to release the back casing and expose the motherboard.

Avoid using a metal spudger, which can cause damage.

  • Unplug the video card from the motherboard with a plastic opening tool.

Do not use a metal spudger, as it may cause damage.

  • Unplug the front facing camera press fit connector from the motherboard by prying upwards with a plastic opening tool or spudger.

Use an ESD-safe tool, not a metal one, to avoid damaging your device.

  • Unplug the rear-facing camera ribbon cable from the motherboard.
  • Pry up the press-fit connector using an ESD-safe spudger.

Step 7

  • Locate the motherboard and use a spudger to carefully pry it loose, starting at the top-left corner.
  • Gently work your way downwards towards the bottom-right corner.

Step 8 | Rear Camera

Be prepared to apply considerable force, as some strength may be required.

  • Unplug the camera from the phone using a metal spudger.
  • Get underneath the tape and gently pry out the camera module.

Step 9 | Screen

Locate the magnetised microphone situated at the bottom right corner of the device.

  • Gently pry the microphone away from its mounting point using a suitable tool.
  • The microphone is now free, and the screen assembly can be removed for replacement.
