LG Ally VS740 Speaker Replacement

Hold the phone firmly with one hand.

  • Flip open the battery pack.
  • Remove the battery cover.

Disconnect the battery.

  • Find and remove all six screws that hold the inner compartment in place.
  • The screws are located on the edge of the inner compartment, including two on a metal piece near where the battery used to reside.

Slide the phone open.

  • Identify the thick casing on the edges of the keyboard.
  • Remove this casing by:
    • Firmly pushing down with your thumbnail or a prying utensil along the edge, starting from left to right.

Be careful when handling circuit boards to avoid damage.

  • Lift the green circuit board platform with your prying tool and gently remove it from the black casing.
  • Disconnect the tether's connection point on the green circuit board.
  • Flip the phone over and locate the camera area, where three small clips connect a black casing.
  • Gently release these clips using your hands or the prying tool.

Locate the silver circular module attached to the black casing.

  • Pry tool: Gently press down on a golden spring coming out of it.
  • The speaker module should be freed from its sticky foundation.

Ensure all parts are secure before reassembling the phone.

  • Install new speaker by applying pressure to the sticky tape with both fingers and thumb.
  • Reattach casing and other components in reverse order of removal, ensuring all connections are secure.
