Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro Screen Replacement

Step 1 | Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro Backplate Disassembly

  • Remove the Torx head screws with a size of 4.9 mm, located on the camera plate.

Use a Torx T6 driver to remove the six 3.65mm Torx head screws located at the bottom of the phone.

  • Insert a pin into the hole located on the side of the phone.
  • Pull out the SIM card tray.

Insert the Spudger into the gap between the phone and backplate, and gently push it along the edge to pry them apart.

Hold the backplate firmly and carefully pull it away from the phone.

  • Be careful not to damage any surrounding components during removal.

Step 6 | Battery

Remove the protective film by peeling it away with your fingers.

Use a fingernail or nylon spudger to carefully remove any adhesive strips holding the battery in place.

Avoid using sharp objects to prevent damage to surrounding components.

Disconnect the orange battery ribbon cable using a spudger.

Insert a fingernail or spudger into one side of the battery, then lift upwards.

  • Repeat on the other side for complete removal.
  • The battery will now come out of phone.

Step 10 | Motherboard

Remove the 3.15mm Phillips Head #000 screws from the motherboard.

  • Disconnect the ribbon cables using a pair of tweezers.
  • Lift the small black hinges to free the cables.

Disconnect the rear-camera connector gently.

  • Remove the front-facing camera connector by gently lifting its tab.
  • Spudger: Gently lift the remaining connector from its socket.

Remove plastic cover from top edge.

  • Disconnect the antenna from the screen plate.

  • Lift the motherboard gently off the frame.
  • Pull the camera out from behind the motherboard.

  • Disconnect the charging port assembly cable using a spudger.
  • Next, remove the screen connection cable.
  • Be careful not to damage the motherboard when handling it.

  • Remove the motherboard completely.

Step 18 | Ear Piece Speaker

Use tweezers to carefully pry out the speaker from its housing.

Step 19 | Charging Assembly & Headphone Jack

Remove 3.6 mm Phillips head screws from the charging assembly.

Lift the charging assembly with a spudger.

Precise care is needed as you peel the flat cable away from the screen.

Step 21 | Screen

Verify that all parts have been replaced and installed correctly.

  • Inspect the replacement screen for any damage or misalignment.
  • Ensure that all screws, clips, and fasteners are securely tightened.
