Nexus 6P Rear Camra&Front Camera&Headphone Jack Replacement

This is a repair guide for the Huawei Nexus 6P's camera and audio jack assemblies.

  • Follow these steps to disassemble both modules, but be aware that any damage to your original parts may occur during this process.

Proceed with caution when handling sensitive components to avoid further damage or electrical shock.

Remove the SIM card tray.

Careful prying required due to adhesive properties and fragile nature of the back glass panel.

  • Apply heat to the back glass panel.
  • Use a hobby knife to carefully create an opening and cut the adhesive underneath, specifically targeting the fierce sticker on the rear glass panel.

Preheat a flat surface or use a hair dryer to soften the adhesive.

  • Insert a hobby knife into the gap and carefully pry the panel loose.
  • Use guitar picks to further cut through the adhesive, taking care not to scratch surrounding components.

Loosen the 6 Phillips screws by twisting them counterclockwise.

  • Insert a guitar pick and plastic opening tool between the front assembly and back cover.
  • Apply gentle pressure to separate the two parts. Alternatively, use a heavy-duty suction cup for added leverage.

Note that these parts fit tightly and may be challenging to separate.

Remove the Phillips screw using a screwdriver.

  • Remove the metal bracket holding the flex contactors.
  • Release all three flex contactors, then lift it out.

Twist off five Phillips screws simultaneously.

Always ensure the device is powered off before proceeding.

  • Release the battery contactor.
  • Remove the metal bracket securing the LCD contactor.
  • Disengage the metal brackets holding the front camera and headphone jack contactors in place.

Never touch internal components without proper grounding — risk of static damage.

  • Disconnect the signal cable contactor.
  • Release the LCD contactor.
  • Pry up and remove the motherboard using a plastic spudger or similar tool.

Step 8

  • Disconnect the headphone jack.
  • Release the front camera assembly to remove it.

Release the rear camera contactor.

  • Remove the contactor from its mounting point.
