How to Apply New Flip Battery Adhesive in Your Google Pixel Fold

- If you haven't already done so, follow this guide to remove the flip battery.
Step 1 | Remove the old adhesive
Highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (over 90%) can cause skin irritation, use caution.
- Apply a few drops of highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol to the frame.
- Use the flat end of a spudger and tweezers to remove remaining adhesive residue from the frame.
- Wipe off excess isopropyl alcohol with a lint-free or microfiber cloth.
Step 2
Check the adhesive strips for proper orientation.
- The clear liners should face towards the frame.
- Align the adhesive strip corners with the white lines on the frame.
Step 3 | Expose the adhesive
Remove the protective liner from each adhesive strip.
Step 4 | Apply the adhesive
Careful placement is crucial — avoid sticking the adhesive in the wrong spot.
- Apply the adhesive strips to their designated areas on the frame.
- Be mindful of the black tabs on the left-most strip, ensuring they do not overlap with the screen adhesive area.
Step 5
- Press down the three adhesive strips using a spudger or your fingers.
- Fold the black tabs of the left-most strip over the frame.
Step 6 | Remove the liners
Remove the blue liners from the adhesive strips.
- Expose the top adhesive surface underneath.
Step 7 | Secure the battery
Reconnect the battery cable temporarily.
- Place the battery in its recess, ensuring alignment with the top edge of the lip.
- Press down on the battery to adhere it to the frame.
Make sure the battery is disconnected before continuing your repair.
Step 8 | Secure the cable
Peel off the blue liner from the middle black tab.
- Fold the black tab onto the bottom edge of the battery.
- Press down on the battery cable to secure it to the frame.
- If necessary, fold the cable slightly to fit in its recess.
