How to Apply New Earpiece Speaker Adhesive in Your Google Pixel Fold

  • To continue repairing your Google Pixel Fold, follow the steps in this guide for replacing earpiece speaker adhesive.
  • If you haven't already removed the earpiece speaker, do so following the separate guide for that procedure.

Step 1 | Remove the old adhesive

Remove any chunks of adhesive using tweezers or your fingers.

  • Highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (over 90%) — apply a few drops to the frame.
  • Use the flat end of a spudger and tweezers to remove remaining adhesive.
  • Risk of damage: wipe any residue with a lint-free or microfiber cloth.

Step 2 | Expose the adhesive

Remove old adhesive from the earpiece speaker using tweezers or your fingers.

  • Peel off protective liners from new adhesive strips.

Step 3 | Apply the adhesive

Place adhesive strips on earpiece speaker.

  • Press down with a spudger or finger to secure.

Step 4 | Remove the liners

Grasp the pull tabs and gently remove the blue liners to reveal the underlying adhesive.

Step 5 | Secure the earpiece speaker

Insert the earpiece speaker at a shallow angle into its recess.

  • Pull the speaker towards the top edge of the phone until it sits flat.
  • Push down on the speaker and cable to secure them in place.
