How to Apply New Base Battery Adhesive in Your Google Pixel Fold
This guide is for replacing the base battery adhesive on a repaired Google Pixel Fold. If you haven't already removed the base battery, follow our separate removal guide.

Step 1 | Remove the old adhesive
Avoid skin contact when handling highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol.
- Apply a few drops of highly-concentrated isopropyl alcohol (over 90%) to the old adhesive.
- Use the flat end of a spudger and tweezers to remove remaining adhesive from the frame.
- Wipe any remaining isopropyl alcohol residue with a lint-free or microfiber cloth.
Step 2 | Align the adhesive
Place the new adhesive strip over the frame with the clear liner facing up.
- Align the white line on the frame with the corresponding mark on the adhesive strip's lower left corner.
- Make sure the blue liner is attached to the frame and not touching any other components.
Step 3 | Apply the adhesive
Take care when applying the new adhesive strip to avoid incorrect placement.
- Slowly peel off the new adhesive strip from its clear liner.
- Apply the exposed sticky side to the designated area on the frame.
Step 4
- Press down on the adhesive using a spudger or your fingers.
- Grip the pull tab and remove the blue liner.
Be careful not to leave any air bubbles when adhering the adhesive.
Step 5 | Secure the battery
Before proceeding, ensure the logic board is either removed or installed.
- Battery: If intact, thread pull tabs under the battery with light adhesive tape in their original position.
- Logic board installed: Temporarily reconnect battery connector for proper alignment.
- Place battery in recess, aligning it close to top edge of lip as possible.
- Press down on battery to adhere it to the frame.
Reconnect any removed components before proceeding with repair.
