How to Apply New Back Glass Adhesive in Your Google Pixel Fold

Step 1 | Align the adhesive

Check the adhesive against the frame before removing any liners.

  • The clear liner must face the frame during installation.
  • Locate cutouts on the liner to ensure correct adhesive orientation.

Step 2 | Apply the adhesive

Careful handling is required to prevent improper placement of the adhesive.

  • Slowly peel off the new adhesive strip from its clear liner.
  • Align the adhesive with the top and bottom right edges of the frame, then continue around the perimeter.

Press down the adhesive using the flat end of a spudger or your fingers.

Step 4 | Peel up the large liner

Peel up the segmented tab on the lower right corner of the large blue liner.

Lift the tab and peel off the large blue liner to expose the secondary liner.

Step 6 | Reconnect the back glass

Support the back glass using your hand or a stable object.

  • Reconnect the back glass cable.
  • Using a Torx Plus 3IP driver, refasten the middle bracket.

Step 7 | Peel up the secondary liner

Peel up either tab at the top right corner of the secondary liner using tweezers or your fingers.

Be careful not to let the adhesive separate — use a spudger to hold it down if necessary.

Locate the tab and lift it up.

Lift out the secondary liner to expose the top adhesive layer.

Step 9 | Apply the back glass

Position the back glass with the cutout over its corresponding area in the frame.

  • Align a long edge of the back glass onto the frame, ensuring proper fit and no adhesive protrusions or gaps.
  • Secure the other long edge of the back glass to the frame.

Apply even pressure around the edges of the back glass to ensure proper adhesion.

Allow the phone to sit undisturbed for several hours, allowing the adhesive to fully cure and harden.
