This step-by-step guide helps you install a new ultra wideband antenna in your Google Pixel Fold.

Step 1 | Safety Precautions

Step 1 image

Charge level must be less than 25% before commencing the repair — risk of thermal runaway with a charged battery.

Power down the device and disconnect all external connections.

Step 2 | Heat the bottom edge

Step 2 image

Place the phone on a flat surface with the back glass facing upwards.

  • Apply an iOpener to the bottom edge of the back glass for two minutes.
  • If using alternative heat sources (e.g., hair dryer, heat gun, hot plate), be cautious not to cause damage to the display or internal batteries.

Step 3 | Anti-Clamp instructions

Step 3 image

Thumbnail 3

The Anti-Clamp method requires careful positioning of suction cups and may not work on slippery surfaces or cracked glass.

  • Unlock the Anti-Clamp's arms by pulling the blue handle backwards.
  • Unfold your phone completely, then slide the Anti-Clamp arms over the left edge below the "G" logo.

Apply tape to create a grippier surface if needed, or use packing tape for cracked glass.

  • Position suction cups near the bottom edge of the phone (front and back).
  • Avoid touching the inner screen bezel with the front cup.

Squeeze the cups together to apply suction, ensuring a secure hold.

Step 4

Step 4 image

Thumbnail 3

Place a flat object under your phone, such as a box or stack of books.

  • Position the Anti-Clamp's arms so that the phone rests level.

Make sure the suction cups remain aligned with each other to ensure proper operation.

If the cups begin to slip out of alignment, detach and realign the arms before proceeding.

  • Pull the blue handle forward to lock the arms in place.
  • Turn the handle clockwise until it reaches 360 degrees or until the cups start to stretch.

Step 5

Step 5 image

Insert an opening pick into the gap under the back glass.

  • If the Anti-Clamp doesn't create a sufficient gap, apply more heat and rotate the handle a quarter turn.
  • Do not crank more than a quarter turn at a time, wait one minute between turns.

Step 6 | Insert an opening pick

Step 6 image

Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Apply a suction cup near the center of the bottom edge on the back glass.

  • Pull up firmly with strong force to create a gap between the back glass and frame.
  • Insert an opening pick into the gap created.

Difficulty may arise due to phone age; apply more heat if needed and try again.

  • For severely cracked back glass, cover with clear packing tape or use strong tape as an alternative.
  • As a last resort, superglue the suction cup to the broken glass.

Step 7 | Separate the bottom adhesive

Step 7 image
