Ensure the battery is critically low (below 25%) to prevent damage during repair.
Power down your phone completely and disconnect all charging cables.
Place phone on smooth surface with back glass facing up.
Extreme heat can harm displays and/or internal batteries.
Make sure you're using the Anti-Clamp correctly, as an improper setup may cause damage.
Incorrect suction cup placement can cause damage or improper removal.
A slippery surface may require additional preparation to ensure proper removal.
Place an object under your phone, such as a box or stack of books, to support it while between the Anti-Clamp's arms.
Insert an opening pick into the gap under the back glass.
If the Anti-Clamp doesn't create a sufficient gap, apply more heat and rotate the handle a quarter turn, waiting one minute between turns.
Apply a suction cup near the center of the bottom edge of the back glass.
The process may be more difficult for older phones; try applying more heat if needed.
Consider using clear packing tape, strong tape, or superglue to enhance suction cup adhesion when dealing with a badly cracked back glass.
Do not insert the opening pick deeper than 3.5 mm when separating the back glass adhesive, as you risk damaging internal components.
Apply iOpener to left edge of back glass and heat for 2 minutes.
Insert an opening pick into the bottom left corner and rotate it slowly to loosen the adhesive.
Insert a second opening pick at the bottom left corner.
Heat the iOpener and apply it to the top edge of the back glass for 2 minutes.
Insert an opening pick at the top left corner and rotate it to break the adhesive seal.
Insert a third opening pick into the top left corner.
Place a iOpener along the right edge of the back glass and apply heat for 2 minutes.
Be extremely cautious when handling this delicate corner.
Apply sufficient heat, then carefully maneuver a pick tool near the sharp corner.
Do not fully remove the back glass yet, as it remains connected by a cable.
Keep track of each screw throughout this repair.
Using the wrong size or applying excessive force can damage screws or strip their heads.
Use tweezers or your fingers to pull the middle bracket toward the left edge of the phone.
Reinsert the middle bracket clip under its slot in the frame before aligning the screw holes to avoid damaging the phone's frame.
Use a spudger to disconnect the back glass cable from the motherboard.
Avoid pressing in the middle or misaligning the connector, as this can cause the pins to bend and result in permanent damage.
Remove the back glass.
During reassembly:
Use isopropyl alcohol (>90%) and a lint-free cloth to remove any remaining adhesive residue.
Do not reuse old adhesive strips, replace with custom cut ones or use double-sided tape like Tesa Tape as an alternative.
The graphite sheet is fragile — handle with care.
During reassembly:
Remove the black screw cover from the top screw of the bottom bracket.
Remove the Torx Plus 3IP driver screws from the bottom bracket using a Torx Plus 3IP driver.
Disconnect both battery packs, one on each side of the phone.
Remove the grey conductive tape from the bottom interconnect cable.
Disconnecting the cables ensures the logic board is protected from accidental contact.
Replace the flip battery:
Incorrect installation may cause connectivity issues or damage to components.
Insert an opening pick at the top edge of the graphite sheet to break the thermal insulator adhesive bond.
Peel the graphite sheet away from the logic board using a gentle prying motion.
Use tweezers to remove any remaining adhesive from the logic board.
Avoid prying against the battery with a spudger to prevent damage.
If reusing old adhesive, ensure it is intact and sticky.
Avoid damaging small surface-mounted components by prying gently with a spudger.
Remove the tape from the top interconnect cable.
Remove the new conductive tape from its liner.
Press down firmly on the conductive tape using a spudger or your fingers.
Use tweezers or your fingers to pull the tab and expose the tape.
Use a Torx Plus 3IP driver to remove the two screws.
Do not attempt to separate the metal bracket from the press connector.
Careful: risk of damaging small components on the logic board.
Remove the Torx Plus 3IP driver and loosen the two screws with 2.8 mm length.
Release the top bracket by pulling it towards the left edge.
Make sure top bracket clips are under their slots during reassembly, before aligning screw holes.
Locate the 5G mmWave antenna on the frame.
If your original adhesive is still intact, you can reuse it. Otherwise, replace it according to this guide.
Insert the spudger into the bottom right corner of the front camera press connector.
Be careful not to touch other areas, as you risk damaging surface-mounted components on the logic board.
Remove the front camera from the frame by applying heat.
Use tweezers to carefully grasp the front camera connector near its body.
If custom adhesive strips are not available, use double-sided tape (e.g., Tesa Tape) for temporary front camera installation.
Remove the Torx Plus 3IP driver
Apply painter's tape with light adhesive to secure the cables in place.
Avoid folding cables at sharp angles to prevent damage.
Insert the flat end of a spudger into the space between the logic board and the rear casing near the front camera.
Pry gently upward to release the logic board's top edge from its upper alignment peg.
Handle with care: fragile logic board and multiple cutouts.
Scrape off existing thermal paste from logic board with spudger
Follow reassembly guide for proper thermal paste application.
Clean logic board with spudger, spreading new thermal paste evenly to match original spread.
Insert the USB-C port into its cutout at a shallow angle.
Press the logic board into its lower metal clip while pushing it towards the bottom edge.
Press down firmly on the white logic board bracket until it fits snugly under the edge of the frame.
Ensure all cables are above the logic board. If not taped, do so now.
Remove any tape holding the graphite sheet in place.
Insert an opening pick between the ultra wideband antenna and graphite sheet.
Peel up the ultra wideband antenna and remove it.
If adhesive is not usable, follow replacement guide for new adhesive.
Extreme heat can damage the displays and/or internal batteries.
Separating the base vibrator adhesive may damage its surface.
To reuse or replace the adhesive, follow these steps:
As a temporary solution, use double-sided tape (e.g., Tesa Tape) to secure the vibrator to the frame if you don't have custom cut adhesive strips.
