Note: This repair can compromise your phone's water resistance. The outcome depends on accurate adhesive application and clean mating surfaces.
Ensure the battery is critically low (below 25%) to prevent potential thermal runaway due to a damaged lithium-ion battery.
Press the SIM eject tool firmly into the SIM card tray hole, avoiding the nearby mic hole.
Be cautious when heating your device.
Position a suction handle approximately at the center of the rear cover's right side, ideally touching the edge.
Grasp the suction handle firmly and pull upwards with consistent pressure.
The gap between the cover and frame should now be visible.
Separate the rear cover from the device using the provided image as a guide.
Apply more heat if necessary before attempting separation.
Insert an opening pick into the initial gap near the center of the right edge.
Position a plastic spudger so its flat end is beneath the rear cover's left edge, just above the camera bezel.
Remove the rear cover.
If encountering resistance, revisit the cover's perimeter using a pick to carefully remove remaining adhesive.
Risk of damage to the cameras if not careful.
Remove the 16 screws securing the wireless charging assembly using a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver.
Keep track of each screw and ensure it is replaced exactly where it was removed from, to avoid damaging your phone.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to carefully pry up the wireless charging assembly from its retaining clips.
Remove the wireless charging assembly.
Careful handling is required when removing the battery to avoid damaging it.
Use tweezers to lift and remove the battery connector cover.
Use a spudger to pry up and disconnect the battery cable press connector.
Remove the two 2.8mm long screws with a 3IP Torx Plus screwdriver.
Careful not to smudge the cameras when handling the logic board.
Make sure not to remove the logic board yet, as it's still connected by the screen cable.
Hold the logic board steady with one hand.
Remove the Torx Plus 3IP screw using a matching driver.
Use tweezers to carefully lift and remove the screen cable cover.
Use the flat end of a spudger to pry up and disconnect the screen cable press connector.
Slide the logic board away from the frame, then lift it out.
Hold the logic board above your work surface when working on the camera.
Avoid pressing the board against your surface, which may damage fragile components.
Reassembly of your phone begins now.
Leave any lens caps or liners in place for now.
Thermal pad damage can cause overheating and system failure.
Scrape up the damaged thermal pads with the flat end of a spudger.
Soak a coffee filter in high-concentration isopropyl alcohol (≥ 90%).
Careful handling of isopropyl alcohol is required.
Gently blot the area with the saturated coffee filter to remove any residue.
Handle thermal pads with care, as they can be misaligned during placement and liner removal.
Remove the remaining liners from the top of the thermal pad by lifting them slowly.
Repeat steps 7 and 8 using the large thermal pad.
Prop your phone up using the suction handle.
Press the screen cable press connector onto its socket.
Install the 1.7 mm-long screw using a 3IP Torx Plus screwdriver on the screen cable cover.
Handle the logic board with care to avoid smudging the cameras.
Insert the logic board, ensuring the battery cable is not trapped underneath.
Apply gentle downward pressure to the logic board along its top edge until it fully seats in its recess.
Install the logic board using a 3IP Torx Plus screwdriver.
Remove the adhesive remnants using a spudger.
Remove the clear liner from the inner housing adhesive.
If the liner starts to pull up, lay it back in place and secure with your spudger.
Remove the colored liner by pulling the tab at the top edge.
Secure inner housing adhesive pieces by firmly pressing with a spudger.
Ensure adhesives are secured before removing final liners to avoid damage.
Align the battery press connector with its socket using a finger.
Hook the battery connector cover into place with tweezers.
Lay the cover down flat.
Install the 3IP Torx Plus screw using a 1.7 mm-long screw.
Position the wireless charging assembly on the frame.
Press the wireless charging assembly firmly with your fingers around its entire perimeter.
Take your time removing the rear cover adhesive.
Be very careful not to damage the battery or fragile components near the frame's edge.
Clean the areas of the frame with a lint-free cloth or coffee filter soaked in high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol.
Verify the rear cover adhesive's position on the frame.
Expose the adhesive by peeling down the top half of the large, clear liner.
Do not remove the liner completely at this stage.
Take your time when aligning the adhesive with the frame as it's very sticky and cannot be moved once applied.
Apply remaining adhesive to the frame, pressing firmly in place while removing larger liner.
Remove the large, colored liner by pulling it out with the pull tab.
Press down firmly on the adhesive around the perimeter using a spudger.
Remove any remaining old adhesive for proper installation.
Apply high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth or coffee filter.
Remove the clear liner from the camera bezel adhesive.
Press the spudger firmly around the camera bezel's perimeter to secure the adhesive.
Align the camera bezel so the square foam is near the edge.
Make sure the adhesive secures it properly to avoid damage.
Use a flat spudger to scrape up and remove remaining old adhesive from the back cover, including 5 small, oval-shaped pieces.
Apply high-concentration isopropyl alcohol (>90%) to a lint-free cloth or coffee filter for cleaning.
Remove the larger, clear liner from the back cover's inner adhesive.
Use a spudger or your fingers to firmly press each of the five small adhesives onto the back cover.
Remove the lens cap and any protective liners from the ultrawide camera.
Use the spudger point to gently lift and remove the plastic liners from the adhesive around the rear cameras.
Remove the final liner from the rear cover adhesive using the pull tabs.
Press the rear cover firmly onto the frame.
Ensure proper alignment to avoid damage.
Press firmly on the rear cover's perimeter and around the camera bezel to activate all adhesives.
Insert the SIM card tray fully into the slot located at the phone's bottom edge.
