Any repair may compromise the water resistance of your phone, so apply new adhesives carefully for best results.
The gasket between earpiece speaker and frame offers dust and water resistance, but its effectiveness depends on phone age and condition. You'll need replacement rear cover adhesives for this repair.
Allow the battery to discharge below 25% to prevent damage and potential fire hazard from a charged lithium-ion battery.
Unplug all cables and completely power down your Pixel device using the power button.
Insert a SIM eject tool, bit, or straightened paper clip into the SIM card tray hole on the bottom edge of your phone.
Ensure not to insert it near the small mic hole adjacent to the SIM tray.
Do not apply excessive heat, as this may cause damage.
Position the suction handle near the center of the rear cover's right edge, as close to the edge as feasible.
Apply firm pressure to the suction handle until a clearance is achieved.
Separate the rear cover from the phone's frame using a pick.
Insert the pick no more than 3 mm when separating left and right edge adhesives to avoid damaging wireless charging coil components.
Apply additional heat if needed to loosen the adhesive.
Insert an opening pick into the initial gap near the center of the rear cover's right edge.
Insert a pick under the top of the rear cover's left edge, near the camera bezel.
Remove the rear cover.
Remove the stuck camera bezel from your phone:
Risk of damaging cameras if pick is inserted too deeply.
If stuck, lightly heat the camera bezel for easier removal.
Careful not to mix up the screws — ensure they go back to their original position.
Insert the point of a spudger into one of the cutouts: either the one to the right of the charge port or the one on the left edge below the camera.
Remove the wireless charging assembly.
Careful not to damage the battery with tools.
Remove the battery connector cover using tweezers.
Use a spudger to gently pry up the battery cable press connector.
Remove the two 2.8 mm screws secured to the logic board using a 3IP Torx Plus screwdriver.
Be careful not to smudge the cameras when handling the logic board.
Do not disconnect the logic board from the frame yet.
Hold the logic board steady with one hand.
Avoid touching the camera lenses or connectors.
Remove the Torx Plus 3IP screw using a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver.
Use tweezers to gently lift the screen cable cover and remove it.

Disconnect and remove the loudspeaker.
Reassembly of your phone begins now.
Locate the logic board thermal pads, which can be found either on the bottom of the board or attached to their respective mounting points on the frame.
Scrape up and remove damaged thermal pads with the flat end of a spudger.
Soak a coffee filter in high-concentration (greater than 90%) isopropyl alcohol.
Thermal pads are delicate and may be misaligned when placed; ensure proper placement for adequate heat dissipation.
Secure the thermal pad by pressing down firmly.
Apply the remaining thermal pad using the same process as before.
Prop your phone up with the suction handle.
Press the screen cable press connector over its socket.
Hook the bottom edge of the screen cable cover with tweezers.
Lay the cover down flat in its intended position.
Insert the 3IP Torx Plus screwdriver into the screw head and turn clockwise.
Use a small amount of torque to avoid damaging the surrounding material.
Ensure the 1.7 mm long screw is fully seated, securing the screen cable cover in place.
Handle the logic board carefully to avoid smudging the cameras.
Insert the logic board, taking care not to trap the battery cable underneath.
Align the logic board by gently pushing it into place, ensuring that the cameras sit flat against their designated positions.
Tighten the logic board screws using a 3IP Torx Plus screwdriver.
Remove the adhesive pieces around the rear cameras using a spudger.
Use high-concentration (≥90%) isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth or coffee filter to clean any residue.
Remove the clear liner from the inner housing adhesive.
If the adhesive starts to pull up with the liner, lay it back in place and resecure it before proceeding.
Press each of the six inner housing adhesives firmly with a spudger.
These may lift easily when removing the liners, ensure secure attachment.
Align the battery press connector over its socket using a finger.
Do not force the connector into place — risk of damage.
