To complete this repair, you'll need replacement front camera foil and rear cover adhesives.
Let the Pixel's battery drain to at least 25% before proceeding.
Avoid applying extreme heat — risk of damaging the rear cover, screen, or battery.
Never apply excessive heat — it can damage the adhesive and compromise repair success.
Position the suction handle near the center of the right edge on the rear cover, as close to the edge as feasible.
Apply firm, consistent pressure to the suction handle.
Remove the rear cover by carefully separating the adhesive around the perimeter of the frame and near the cameras.
Apply additional heat if needed.
Insert an opening pick into the initial gap near the center of the right edge.
Position the opening pick at the left edge of the rear cover, near the camera bezel.
Be cautious not to damage the camera or surrounding components with the pick.
Remove the rear cover.
Remove the stuck camera bezel from your phone if necessary.
Remove the Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver and use it to remove the screws securing the wireless charging assembly.
Insert the pointed tip of a spudger into the cutout to the right of the charge port, then gently pry up.
Remove wireless charging assembly.
Careful not to damage the battery when removing it.
Remove the battery connector cover using tweezers.
Use a plastic spudger to pry up the battery cable press connector.
Careful not to touch the camera lenses, as they may be damaged.
Remove the front camera using tweezers.
Reassembly of your phone begins now.
Careful not to touch or smudge the exposed lens — risk of damage.
Press down on the front camera press connector with your finger.
Remove the copper foil from its large clear liner.
Do not remove any liners other than the one holding the copper foil, or risk damaging surrounding components.
Hold the top copper foil section in place with a finger.
Remove the remaining liner from the top of the copper foil using tweezers.
Remove the adhesive residue using a spudger.
Remove clear liner from inner housing adhesive.
Secure adhesive using spudger and flat end.
If adhesive pulls up with liner, lay it back in place and secure again.
Remove colored liner from top edge using pull tab.
Make sure inner housing adhesive is securely attached.
Align the battery press connector over its socket using a finger.
Do not force the connector into place — this may damage the connection or surrounding components.
If the connector is resistant, reposition it and try again to ensure proper alignment and secure fit.
Use tweezers to secure the left edge of the battery connector cover, and then lay it down flat.
Align the wireless charging assembly with the mounting points on the frame.
Ensure secure attachment to prevent damage or malfunction.
Firmly press around the wireless charging assembly with your fingers to re-engage all of its clips.
Acquire a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver.
Be extremely cautious when removing the rear cover adhesive — risk of damaging nearby components.
Use a lint-free cloth or coffee filter with high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol to clean the frame areas where the adhesive was.
Ensure the rear cover adhesive fits correctly onto the frame before applying.
Peel down the large, clear liner by about 1/2 to expose the adhesive.
Take your time when aligning the adhesive with the frame, as it's very sticky and won't move once applied.
Apply remaining adhesive to the frame in sections, pressing firmly while removing larger backing sheet.
Remove the large, colored liner using the pull tab.
Press down firmly on the adhesive around the perimeter with a spudger.
Follow these steps if the camera bezel detached during rear cover removal.
Use only high-concentration isopropyl alcohol (greater than 90%) with a lint-free cloth or coffee filter to clean the camera bezel and rear cover.
Remove the clear liner from the camera bezel adhesive.
Press firmly around the camera bezel using a spudger.
Position the camera bezel so the square foam is near the edge.
Use a spudger with its flat end to scrape off all remaining old adhesive from the back cover.
Wipe down surfaces with isopropyl alcohol using a lint-free cloth or coffee filter.
Remove the large, clear liner from the back cover's inner adhesive.
Use a spudger or fingers to press down firmly on each of the five small adhesives.
If the liner peels up with the adhesives, lay it flat and re-press the adhesives with a spudger.
Insert the point of a spudger into the adhesive around the rear cameras and carefully lift out the plastic liners.
If adhesive starts to separate from liner, lay liner back in place and use spudger to resecure it.
Remove the final liner from the rear cover adhesive using the pull tabs.
Press the rear cover firmly onto the frame.
Press firmly along the perimeter of the rear cover and near the camera bezel to ensure strong bonding of all adhesives.
