If your battery is swollen, take proper precautions to avoid injury.
You'll need:
Note: This repair may compromise the water resistance of your phone. To retain water resistance, apply new adhesives accurately and ensure clean mating surfaces.
Let the battery drain completely before proceeding, as a charged lithium-ion battery may be prone to catching fire upon damage.
Extreme heat can damage the rear cover, screen, or battery.
Position the suction handle about 1 inch from the right edge of the rear cover, as close to the edge as feasible.
Apply firm pressure to the suction handle until a slight separation appears between the cover and frame.
Locate the rear cover's adhesive perimeter.
When separating left or right edge adhesives, insert pick no more than 3mm to avoid damaging the wireless charging coil and its graphite film.
Apply additional heat if needed before attempting separation.
Insert a pick into the initial gap at the right edge of the rear cover.
Position the opening pick near the camera bezel, at the top of the rear cover's left edge.
Remove the rear cover.
If encountering resistance, revisit the perimeter and use a pick to gently release any stubborn adhesive.
Risk of damaging cameras if not careful.
Remove the wireless charging assembly using a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver.
Keep track of each screw to avoid damaging your phone during reassembly.
Insert the pointed end of a spudger into one of the cutouts beside the charge port.
Disconnect and remove the wireless charging assembly.
Do not risk damaging the battery when removing its connector.
Use tweezers to gently lift and remove the battery connector cover.
Delicate side button cable — be extremely cautious not to damage.
When handling the battery, wear protective gear — either finger stalls, latex gloves, or rubber gloves.
Carefully read these next steps before proceeding to ensure successful battery removal.
Secure the phone to your work surface using two F-Clamps or C-Clamps, one for each edge.
Be careful not to clamp down on internal components. If using metal clamps, place cloth between the frame and clamp to prevent damage.
Make sure your work surface is clean and free of debris, especially under the screen.
Follow ESD precautions when securing the phone to avoid damage or electrical shock.
Never yank on the battery pull tabs — may cause damage.
Never reuse a deformed or damaged battery — it's a fire hazard.
Replace with a new battery.

Exceeding the recommended amount of isopropyl alcohol may damage your screen.
Hold the suction handle firmly with both hands.
Use the suction handle to lift out the battery.
Reassembly of your phone begins now.
Remove the old battery adhesive using a spudger and tweezers.
The adhesive can be difficult to remove; be patient and gentle when handling it.
Damage to the display may occur if excessive isopropyl alcohol is applied.
Remove the larger, clear liner from your replacement battery adhesive.
Press the adhesive firmly into place with either your fingers or a spudger.
Remove the liner by peeling it up.
Be cautious when handling the side button cable, as it can be easily damaged.
Position the battery above its recess.
Use your fingertip to flip the side button cable onto the battery and gently press down to secure it with its tape.
Remove the adhesive strips surrounding the rear cameras using a spudger.
Remove the larger clear liner from the inner housing adhesive.
The adhesive may lift with the liner, so reapply and secure it with a spudger if necessary.
Press each inner housing adhesive firmly with a spudger.
Ensure adhesives are secure to prevent removal issues during liner removal.
Align the battery press connector with its socket using a gentle touch.
Hook the battery connector cover's left edge with tweezers.
Install the 1.7 mm long screw using a 3IP Torx Plus screwdriver.
Align and press the wireless charging assembly onto its designated area on the frame.
Press the wireless charging assembly firmly with your fingers around its perimeter.
Install the Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver.
Take your time when removing the rear cover adhesive, as this will help ensure an even bond.
Be extremely careful not to damage the battery or fragile components near the perimeter of the frame.
High concentration isopropyl alcohol can damage certain materials.
Position the rear cover adhesive over the frame to ensure correct placement.
Incorrect application may require discarding and reapplying new adhesive.
Peel down top half of large, clear liner to expose adhesive.
Take your time when aligning the adhesive with the frame as it's very sticky and can't be moved once applied.
Press the adhesive into place slowly, peeling away the large liner as it's applied.
Ensure the adhesive is evenly distributed to prevent air bubbles or poor adhesion.
Remove the large, colored liner using the pull tab.
Press down firmly on the adhesive with a spudger around the phone's perimeter.
Check if the camera bezel detached when removing the rear cover. If so, proceed with the next steps.
Wipe the camera bezel and the matching area on the rear cover with a lint-free cloth or coffee filter, soaked in high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol.
Use a spudger to firmly press around the perimeter of the camera bezel.
Ensure the camera bezel is aligned with the rear cover, placing the square foam near the edge.
Use a flat spudger to scrape off old adhesive from the back cover.
Use high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth or coffee filter to wipe away adhesive residue.
Remove the clear liner from the inner adhesive.
If adhesives start peeling up, lay them back down and secure again using your spudger.
Use a spudger to carefully lift and remove the plastic liners from the adhesive around the rear cameras.
Remove the rear cover liner using the provided pull tabs.
Press the rear cover firmly onto the .
Press firmly on the rear cover's perimeter and near the camera bezel.
