Insert an opening pick cautiously, no more than 3 mm under the rear cover.

  • Measure 3 mm from the pick's tip and mark it with a permanent marker or tape a coin to the pick at this point.
  • Separate the adhesive along the perimeter of the rear cover, avoiding damage to internal components.

Do not attempt to fully remove the rear cover yet.

  • Lift the left edge of the rear cover using a suction handle.
  • Swing the rear cover over the right edge, like opening a book.

Check the perimeter for remaining adhesive and use an opening pick to separate it if necessary.

  • Prop up the rear cover with the suction handle to access the ribbon cable near the top right corner.

Step 9 | Remove the wireless charging assembly

Keep track of each screw and ensure it returns to its original location.

  • The Pixel 9 Pro uses Torx Plus screws, but standard Torx bits will also work. Apply constant, downward force to prevent stripping.
  • To remove the wireless charging assembly, use a Torx Plus 3IP screwdriver and follow these steps:
    • Remove four 5.4 mm-long screws.
    • Remove one 1.5 mm-long screw (note: this is non-magnetic, you may need to use tweezers).
